Not Nick Nolte's Diary, Malibu, CaliforniaMay 5, 2005
Teleology
Today, my mind feels scattered like a cache of greased bearings on a terracotta floor. There is a difference between "body language" and "body english", Diary. It was a little lamp that Billy Friedkin turned on over the workbench in my mind several years ago. Body language is correctly used when someone communicates with their body position. Body english is used when trying to drain a free throw after it's left your hands. I mention it because Manolo got into a spat with the blender mechanic. Manolo sharpens his own fruit blades by hand. When he saw the mechanic, who is also named Manolo, plug in a electric sharpener he pretended to knock his toolbox onto the floor. The other Manolo turned his body with heavy english. Forgive me for wanting to wedge the word obstreperous into the tale, but I couldn't think of a good way to do it.
