Some ideas to improve my golf story: A scene where Hamish invents the pitching wedge when his kid is skipping stones into the Atlantic. A scene where they name the birdy after something clever happens. What if the game originally had more holes but Hamish's dad dies on the 18th hole so he changes the game? Just some thoughts. I just ran into Robert Evans at Souplantation in Brentwood. As a student of history, there's something vaguely distasteful to me about the name of that restaurant, but Constance likes their veggie soup. For whatever reason, seeing him reminded me to get some more of those italian circular paperclips. They're simply better, Diary. In the menu of my mind, the soup du jour is inspiration.
