Auction
We all just got back from the Reg Bev Wil, Diary. Sotheby's was staging an auction there and staging is the right word. For that reason, I diplomatically needed my man-at-arms to remain back stage. Luckily, Manolo was content to window shop at Carroll and Co for a spell. My accountant likes to hold the paddle, and it really is for the best. One year, I was the high bidder for one of John Cameron's old Corvettes because my Vittel water was flat. Joke was on me as that day I found out: Vittel water is always flat and Cameron didn't saddle soap his car seats. I ended up selling the Corvette engine to a dealer and turning the body into an outdoor planter. I think Joan Baez wrote a song with the same plot. Well, I'm out of space to talk about the auction. Perhaps tomorrow.
